Our Principals

Owners Joe and Janis Pinnelli, have partnered for over 30 years in the construction industry.

Texas natives, before beginning the J. Pinnelli Company, both graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. Joe earned a BA in Government which was followed by service as an officer in the US Army Military Police Corps, and Janis earned her BBA in Accounting followed by service as a Treasury Agent.  Naturally complementing each other’s strengths, they pursued their love of history and Texas roots with the preservation of Texas landmarks, two of which are recorded on the National Register of Historic Places and many others recognized by state and local preservation agencies.  Joe was appointed by Governor Ann Richards to the State Preservation Board which directly oversaw the restoration of the Texas Capitol.

Where they are both truly recognized is in the community.  Joe and Janis believe strongly in giving back and this is evident in the numerous causes and services they support.  Janis, while CFO for the J. Pinnelli Company, has been a board or committee member of Preservation Texas, Inc., The Women’s Fund of Central Texas, Austin Paramount and State Theatre Alliance, Girl Scouts Lone Star Chapter Capital Campaign, Planned Parenthood of the Texas Capital Region, Inc., among many others.  She was also recognized by the YWCA of Greater Austin as Woman of the Year in 2003.  Joe is equally active as past Board Chair of Safeplace and the Heritage Society of Austin and is currently serving on the Board of Avance Austin.
